But I need some advice and I just know some of you will have done this before...
Our village is hosting a fundraiser themed as a Summer of Love party. I am responsible for decorating the venue - local pub. I have been given some large boards - some are hardboard and some chipboard. I want to paint them white (easy bit slosh emulsion over them) and then do hippie themed symbols. I'll need a lot of different colours, and I don't know what is the best paint to use to do this. They don't have to be perfect - it's about creating an atmosphere.
Any suggestions? Thank you. Vicky

Paint tester pots would be a good idea.Loads of different colours and Dulux usually have 3for2 offers on.

Try freecycle. People often have leftovers which they might be happy to give away, particularly if they were in lurid 60s colours.

Are you suggesting that we are a bunch of aging hippies on PPUK?

If you can find a big enough water tank (an old bathtub perhaps, or are your boards bigger than that?) then with just a very small amount of different colours you could paint marble over your white surface to give it a psychedelic look.

Ask your residents for all their leftovers, bound to be far too much if ours are anything to go by!!!!

I agree with all of the above suggestions. Just to add one other idea for your designs: use Google Images to search for "hippy designs" and you'll get a huge choice to inspire you!

Warning: don't try this without wearing dark glasses!
