Hi all,
Just looking for a bit of advice really, let me explain:
I purchased a Victorian Terraced house that was in a poor state. Part of the work involved replacing the Sash Windows and rear bay, as they had been neglected and were beyond saving. I had them replaced through a local company who had come to my attention through a recommendation. I should have done more due diligence (false sense of security due to recommendation is partly to blame) and I don't think they've done a very good job. The windows themselves I think are pretty legit, they arrived built and painted and looked like good quality. The operation of the Windows themselves seems good to me also.
I think the issue is with how they've been fit in the bay and there have been water ingress issues, with water coming in underneath the bottom rail of the window itself (Where the Window bottom rail and wall meet). I do not know what is normal here and I am struggling myself to identify how good/bad/normal this installation is. I have tried to engage with some other Sash window specialists to come and have them take a look but nobody seems interested, they're only generally wanting to sell me entirely new windows. I would be more than happy to pay someone for a report/survey on the work that has been carried out but I'm not sure who to throw this to.
I've attached some pictures that show the whole bay for context, and then some close-ups that show the area where the water ingress is. Here are my own notes/observations based on what I can see, I have no idea if these are legitimate concerns or not:
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read all of this!

- The exterior of the bay has no sill to aid in water run-off, it looks like the windows are just sat directly on the bay and then have had some lead flashing added (pics 1+2)
- There is missing sealant where the bottom of the window meets the lead flashing (pic 4) (Note: I have since added sealant to this in an attempt to fix the water ingress, and it seems to have worked so far)
- There are gaps in the joins between the side jamb and the bottom rail of the window (pic 3 and 4). I don't think these were present prior to being installed and I don't know if they're normal movement of the wood or an issue.
Thanks to anyone who took the time to read all of this!
