Just interested to know what everybody thinks about the new Jerwood art gallery which they are proposing to build on the Stade coach and lorry park in Hastings old town, East Sussex.
The down point in my view is that it will to some degree obscure the iconic view of the historic net huts which is so important to the town’s identity.
The good point is that it is going to be clad in grey/black glazed terracotta tiles (made in nearby Kent) that will compliment a couple of historic black glazed brick buildings nearby and match in colour at least the black net huts.
Thumbnail sketches which can be enlarged can be seen on the local newspaper website
