The 1827 georgian town house in London I am restoring/renovating is missing all of the window shutters from the ground and 1st floors (they were removed in the 70s.) Fortunately my neighbours are happy to give me access so we can copy theirs... However finding a joiner that is confident to replicate them is proving really difficult. The last one I spoke to was happy to make the shutters themselves in his workshop, but didn't want to make the shutter boxes as these were detailed & would need to be made on site. My main contractor is uncertain as to whether his carpenter can achieve the necessary quality of finish on the boxes...
