I wonder why His Majesty is cross-eyed, and appears to have a mouthful of marbles. Is it possible that he stammered*?
*I'm sure that will be an impenetrable reference for anyone who hasn't seen The King's Speech. And if you haven't you absolutely should.

Now, let me think.
On average they should get 6000+ visitors per year, at £10 each = £ 60.000 . That's a nice packet.
Susan ( my wife), has just reminded me no to forget to add the revenue from luncheons and afternoon tea.
Add a liquor licence to that ... ( am I jelous or what !!!)

Award-winning actor Colin Firth has confirmed that he will star in The Queen’s Accent, a sequel to The King’s Speech in which he plays the young Queen Elizabeth II as she struggles to overcome her horrifically posh accent.
Set in 1952, the film tells the moving story of Elizabeth who ascends to the throne but is unable to speak in public without sounding like she was being strangled. In a desperate attempt to overcome her accent the young monarch visits an unconventional speech therapist who gradually teaches her to sound less posh and more like him, and who will be played by Hugh Grant.
The Queen’s Accent has already been nominated for 12 Academy Awards despite the fact that it hasn’t even been made yet. A further follow-up is also planned in which Prince Philip tries unsuccessfully to conquer his crippling Tourettes syndrome.

I imagine the house was already listed but . . . Michael Liversidge, of Bristol University, said the discovery was "enormously significant, stunningly exciting and of national importance". . . . which would surely mean an increase to the listing status, perhaps to grade 1.
So what, exactly, does one do with a suddenly discovered national treasure? I imagine their insurance premium would go through the roof (or perhaps not - it's not as if it could ever be replaced) and they might suddenly be required to install all sorts of hitherto unnecessary, and probably unwanted, security measures.
It could end up costing them a small fortune - a double-edged sword if ever there was one.
Still quite magnificent though!

It was already Grade II*, so in practical terms little would change if it went up to I. I do wonder what was going on with removing the panelling (imported from elsewhere, according to the list description, but presumably of some interest in its own right) though :? Sometimes it is better not to let curiosity get the better of you :wink:

It's amazing, but oh, I wouldn't want him staring down at me like that. I would be forever thinking of my wifely sins that would have lead to execution, and would want the panelling back up sharpish!
