Hi All
Have been somewhat slow in getting the work done on our house (son going to uni, various illnesses/operations etc. getting in the way) and we have realised that the LBC runs out in November . I have spent hours trawling the net, trying to find local contractors (Cambridgeshire) who I think could take on the work, but when I review sites, am somewhat intimidated by the gallery of images based on Cambridge Colleges, Churches etc - am sure they would not want our little job! Two builders who I contacted turned up, seemed happy to do the work but then the quotes had that awful phrase 'expanded metal lattice' in  Leading me to believe they had limited experience in the type of work required. So, if anyone could PM me with recommendations for contractors in the Cambs area (we are 8 miles west of Cambridge so Beds contractors may also be ok) I would be so grateful. I have had response from a company who advertise in the pp directory, who will be coming to look this week, but would like a couple more quotes to compare (and is the sensible thing to do)
The work is to replace /repair the lime render and carry out associated timber work on the 150 year old timber framed extension to our 300 year old house. Past owners have patched the lime with cement and EML and in other places the lime has degraded. We know the timbers will need attention and many of the window frames too. The work does not have to be completed by November, we just need to have made a start by then.
Thanks.
