Exchange has taken place--------early June looks possible for completion
and then we should at last be happily settled in a listed property oozing with history, atmosphere and character.

The Vendor has a great sense of humour and replied to the Buyers Questions prepared by my solicitor relating to planning applications /alterations/ LBC ,by saying that alterations were too numerous to list since 1340 and that he assumes they have Papal approval!!

Yes, it really is that old in parts.

ps. The Shed now stands in splendid isolation on the allotment (the other half nearly got clouted when he pointed out that at the moment it looks a bit like an outdoor privy) surrounded by a slowly increasing area of weed-free soil. Once I've cleared the rest of the plot it will look down a classical collonade of Bob Flowerdew-style tyre stacks, with the muck-heap as focal point at the far end.

Jocelyn - delighted to hear that your place in the Holy Land is signed and sealed. When are we going to see a picture? You must be itching to get in and get organised!

She'd unpacked by the end of the first week. Had to, we had a family 70th birthday party to go to and they were then all coming back to ours for cofffee... 35 people and boxes everywhere....... not Jo's style!!!!!!


As for Jocelyn, it sounds amazing I bet you can't wait to get in... Ours is somewhere near that age, although the moat is supposed to have been dug out in the 700's, so does that make us the owner of the oldest property?

We were packed from the middle of December ready to go, as our buyers wanted to be in for Xmas, being in rented, having a family and leaving for Dubai on the 27th for two years... we moved March 4th. (last year)

Moo, Glad the shed is good, give the other half a very difficult piece of music with which to occupy his mind whilst he is serenading you from the far end of the Flowerdew style collanade!

The more boxes I pack the more stuff there is left to pack it seems.

ps to Jocelyn: the shed may soon grow. The nice young man who chops my hair is thinking of getting rid of his little shed and has promised to let me give it a good home. On the site for only a few weeks, and already I'm planning extensions.
