By my calculation you've got 7 bathrooms that were corridors, 6 corridors that were bathrooms, and a railway carriage that is now a Hubby loft. Not sure I like the sound of a hubby loft.

I'm dreaming of the day when I make a similar post.... not long now.

We're getting some carpet today! Yay!

I'm very jealous of your husband, with his own loft. I'm only allowed a modest shed - and I even have to tidy that up myself (once a year, whether it needs it or not).

I love the ex-pew window seat. And the Suffolk latch looks good - I trust you'll be paying the requisite royalties to us in Suffolk?

Shelli - have had another look at the pics. The window seat from a pew is lovely - it has given me an idea to close up a useless short (modern) outside door in my dining room... even SWMBO was more convinced by your window seat pics (and our builder) than her idea that we'd "do" alfresco dining through that door.

Ironwork is from Kirkpatrick - apparently they are the cats pyjamas for forged goods

Shelli - have had another look at the pics. The window seat from a pew is lovely - it has given me an idea to close up a useless short (modern) outside door in my dining room... even SWMBO was more convinced by your window seat pics (and our builder) than her idea that we'd "do" alfresco dining through that door.

The windowseat is one of my favourite things - we went to chapel on the far side of Alston where a lovely chap is turning a redundant (I think Methodist) chapel into a rather grand bunkhouse slap bang on the dales way -( I have half expected him to turn up on this forum with lime questions actually - who knows he may even be here already - if he is Hi from us ) - we spent a happy afternoon carefully removing several pews, some pulpit steps with rail and some ballustrading (is that right word?).

So I apologise if I am boring any of you but I do have some more shots to post - I've been waiting 18 months+ to do this

The back of the kitchen had a sliding door into a narrow hallway leading to the lounge

so we opened it up



The shelves in the back used (many years ago) to be a doorway through to the adjoining cottage at the back (now derelict and about to be renovated)

The south gable end was originally slate hung for weather proofing but was in poor repair, as was the adjoining shed

So we fettled the pointing, dashed top section and painted and rebuilt the shed - the leads are in ready for phase 2 ( could be 10 years away yet)
