I feel their roots should be outside the house, not inside.
Taking the skirting boards and plaster off reveals that I share my home with a number of plant roots, which seem to have put themselves through the mortar and be happily growing behind the skirting boards.
I've removed the vast majority of plants but would rather avoid taking off a good climbing rose. Anything I can do to avoid actually chopping it out? Generally drying out the house walls would probably help, I suppose, as then the roots will simply be unable to get any water and die back.
