Hi All
Can anyone help me with suggestions for moving a cast iron bath? We've just acquired one and now have to pick it up. It's very much like the one in the picture below although it's not actually that tub as it's still installed in the seller's house. It's got to be moved downstairs and into the back of our car (it will fit, I've measured it) but I don't know the best way to move it. Our problem is that we can't take anyone with us to help as it's a 5 hour drive and the bath takes up all the room in the back of the car so they couldn't get back with us! Evidently there's not going to be a great deal of assistance at the seller's end either. Has anyone done this before or can anyone help with engineering suggestions? Once it's downstairs it's relatively straightforward to move it on rollers but the stairs are clearly an obstacle. If it's too dangerous to get it downstairs then it looks like we might have to cancel the sale which would be a real shame.
Thanks in advance for suggestions...
