mould on lime plaster

I've recently lime plastered my sitting room. In the lower corners there is now mold growing on the walls. I was intending to brush this off and treat it with a weak bleach solution but before I do I'd welcome anyones views as to whether this may damage the lime or whether there is a better/more traditional approach to take.

Jeyes fluid might be an alternative to bleach, but the long term solution is to make sure the wall is dry. Adequate heating and ventilation?

It sometimes happens in a slightly damp corner of one of our walls - where an outside garden wall butts up againts the house wall, and it's a room we only use occasionally so isn't heated always.

If you've recently lime plastered, it may take a long time for the wall to dry out, so that damp won't be helping, and heat and ventilation certainly is required, as Biff says.

You can buy fungicide stuff to remove and it's supposed to inhibit mould growth from any DIY shed, bleach does the trick but I don't know if it has an inhibitor (poss not very eco-friendly, so use sparingly).

Jeyes fluid might be a bit pongy, although I'm sure it will do the trick.

The central heating and woodburner have only recently gone in and being low down my guess is that the warm air doesn't circulate down there very much. It's probably going to take 18 months or so for the lime to have the desired effect.
My main concern is whether the jeyes/bleach etc. will affect the ability of the lime to do it's stuff. I guess from your recommendations that it's not a problem. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I would recommend to wash the mould down with 70% cheap spirit alcohol. This will kill by dehydrating the mould and cause not any problems to the lime wash. I suppose there must be some organic substances like cellulose, casein or line seed or ...? in the paint, otherwise mould should not grow on a lime wash surface.

To get rid with mould attack, its not enough to bleach or 'safeguard' the surface. You should get down the amount of humidity and heat permanent without cooling off the walls every night. To hinder mould growing on a surface any pure alcalic coating would be good like limewash or pure water glass in a 5% watery solution.
