Dear all,
I am buying a grade II house which is a bit poorly. Nothing major but damp has got in badly as a) it's old and b) it's not been lived in for many months.
It's not too bad.
There is also a a couple of un-decorated walls from a big leak which occurred from the roof - now fixed.
I passed all the mortgage process and the finances are all fine. However when the bank's surveyor came, they said it was unmortgageable. News which is sad, disappointing and extremely annoying as well.
My question is to those who have recently bought their properties - did you use a 'normal' bank or a specialist and was your mortgage the usual type or some other kind which allowed you to do repairs etc. or took them into account?
Many thanks!
