I need to return to a down pipe and drainage job that I 'finished' a few years ago. Unfortunately, the new cast iron down pipe finishes just a bit short of the new plastic underground drainage. I'm not sure what the best options are - I don't really want to shell out for another length of 4" cast iron.
The cheapest/simplest option would be to use a slip coupler but this is likely to leave a bit of the couple exposed. I could paint it and perhaps add a brickwork surround to cover the pipe. It won't look quite right though... I also need to hide the plastic pipe trap that is slightly above ground at the moment which I think might involve creating a bed with a load of gravel to bring up the ground level.
I do have one 1.8m length of 4" cast iron for the soil pipe on the right of the photo so could cut off the eared socket to finish this properly. It does seem a bit of a waste and I'll still need to extend the soil pipe (albeit only for vent purposes) with something!
Has anyone got a good idea to solve this one? Thanks in advance.
