One of the things I hate about putty is how long I need to let it dry before painting. I've found this can be a good few weeks if the weather isn't great. Even then I'mnot sure modern paints are very compatible, as I've had the surface get very soft post painting and even crinkle. I had to repair some putty round a window I am restoring and decided to use miliput. I did one complete bead at the bottom of one sash, and repaired other bits where the puttu has fallen out. It is brilliant. It can be put on with a trowel just like normal putty, smoothed with a wet trowel or finger, and dries withinh a day. It is £3 for a small pack, enough to do the beads on one window perhaps so more expensive than linseed putty, but so much more convenient. Can anyone see any reason not to use it?
