micro hydro power

Hi

We have a burn ( stream ) behind our cottage, and while I haven't done any measurements, I'm pretty sure, given that it's running off a hill, that there is potential for a Hydro power unit.
I'm thinking if I could get up to 2Kw I could almost be self sufficient.
After Googling I'm not that much wiser.
Is there anyone in PP with experience in Micro Power who can help?
