metal floor vent grill/covers, custom sizing

Hello,

Does anyone recommend someone for the following:

I need floor vent/grill covers to be made as I have non-standard size heat vents (about 1000mm x 180mm) but varying sizes. I do not want a fancy design, just something that has about 50% airflow, and preferably a darker tone finish (not bright silver stainless steel). And, the edging would have a T-support so that it sits in the vent, but has a lip to cover where the wood floor meets the vent opening.

I called up SDS and Gilbert/sons and the prices were out of my budget (about £450 each) so looking for alternatives.

any metal fabricator should be able to weld something up out of pierced metal sheet and T-section mild steel. Then spraypaint to your chosen colour.
