Lovely Villages - a thank you

Some might remember a couple of months back I asked fellow PP-ers of any beautiful villages they were aware of as I was going to make a new section on my website.

Anyhoo... the job is (almost) complete!

Ok, so it's not the most mega-wow piece of web design in history, but I hope people will forgive it on account that I'm very much a one man band. Moreover, I reckon that if I spend many more evenings working on it my wife will file for divorce.

Still, I'll run the risk if anyone thinks I've missed somewhere particularly glorious.

Notice you have included some Scottish places after all. Some good examples on there, but some classic ones missing! I'll need to put my thinking cap on and extend your list!

Alas, I don't have any Scottish places in the "beautiful villages" section yet - I suspect you've seen the main county-country historic hotels listings. Truth is, it was my poor web design which meant it wasn't well signposted (all rectified now!!!)

But any suggestions for places in Scotland are very, very welcome. I'll certainly expand the section in the future.

In south-west Scotland, I see you have a mention for Castle Douglas, but you should also include Kirkcudbright - a charming small fishing town.

Well done for separating East Anglia proper (ie: Norfolk and Suffolk) from the rest of the East of England. This is not always done, mainly out of laziness I suspect, and big differences in character make it clearly the better option.

In Suffolk, glaring omissions seem to be Southwold and Walberswick.

I also have a couple more suggestions for Provence. On the coast near Marseille is the lovely village of Cassis, just at one end of the wonderful Calanques coastline. And up north of there is Tourtour, one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France: http://www.les-plus-beaux-villages-de-france.org/fr/tourtour-0.

Not exactly an hotel, more a restaurant with rooms, but it serves delicious food and the bedrooms are a delight (as far from corporate blandness as you could imagine).

Well, I happen to know a place in Norwich where I bet the food is even better and the welcome is peerless.

Regrettably it's not open to the public. Poor old public!
