Is this the same hole that you found a while ago? I guess you buyer must have decided not to go ahead with the purchase when he discovered it was quite a bit larger than he originally thought. Seems you have found a use for it!

From the looks of things either it is the wrong hole or the tank was substantially smaller than expected.

Well, it's started as the right sized hole, but the sides kept falling in after all that rain a couple of weeks ago. It had to be made safe for the operator to get in around the tank...

So we filled it in quick before the Council could look into it.

There's some spare hole left if anyone needs some for their garden? £10 a cubic metre, collection only. Experienced holers only, as these are dangerous things to move around on a lorry, and we learned in a previous thread.

Not a good time to be selling holes. I read the new today and there are 4000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire - apparently.

You've got me there Penners. I'm sure it was 4000 holes in Blackburn, Lancashire - and although the holes were rather small, they had to count them all, now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall.

Yep - 4000, unless I'm missing something and your 10,000 (or is it 13,999?) is a reference to summat'else like.
