loo dilemna

i am extending my kitchen through an old shower room. i want to keep a small toilet cubicle but because of the small space i will have to rotate the toilet through 90degrees. rather then dig the concrete floor up to redirect the drain someone has suggested a side flushing toilet. has anyone else heard of one of these and where can i get one?

Never heard of a side flushing toilet, but can't you just rearrange the waste connection to the soil pipe, in order to reposition your toilet?

One other word of advice - never rotate the toilet while you're actually using it. This can cause motion sickness.

Lot sof toilet shops will sell you with a toilet wher the waste goes sideways after it comes but the back.

a different sort of bowel movement eh david? to run a waste pipe from the rear of the toilet to the existing waste would mean three 90degree bends within eighteen inches or so. would that work?

That's a tricky one. In theory, provided the falls are right and you use nicely swept bends, it ought to work. However, theory and practice can sometimes be poles apart in plumbing.
It wouldn't cost much to try it out, and then if it doesn't work you can resort to the more expensive option.

I have one, although I have no idea where you could get one now. They come in 2 pieces so you can shoot it in any direction. Its not a very good pic but the bottom part houses the U bend which exits through the wall at the back of the pic.

my loo ended up with its back against the inside wall and a 90 degree turn to get to the waste pipe, haven't had any problems so far, and worked alot better than squeezing it with its back against the outside wall which we did originally(at the plumbers suggestion, who then channeled a groove out of the side wall so the flush could move.. not good at all) any how.. obligatory plumber rant over (sorry, still recovering from that) my loo's been flushing thru a 90 degree bend for 2 months now, no probs.. <IMG SRC="http://www.periodproperty.co.uk/discussing/smileys/smile.gif" BORDER=0 ALT="">
