I could mess about searching for the relevant threads but .....
Several poeple have asked about their original Victorian fireplaces and heat, what to put there etc
My brother has an original Victorian fireplace, with tiles (the surround is an appalling wooden copy), he has installed a 16" woodburner that is wonderful. The fireplace can be reinstalled as was if needed and at the same time he has a fire that gives out a sensible amount of heat - in fact when his central heating boiler broke down, was the only source of heat
He got it from http://www.aarrowfires.com. I know nothing else about them. I have only enjoyed the comforrt of the fire on several occasions.
