i think ours should look very much like that in a general way, except its a bit untidyer. the thatching pegs look like teeth or spikes out of indiana jones in the light from the torch and stick through quite a long way.
ours is wheatstraw not reeds, and black all over. it may be part turf, but that may just be old dead moss. in some places you can see woven wheatstraw rope. ours has wood with the bark still on, rather than square, but laid in a similar pattern to yours.
we have only seen the inside because it is tin outside,but what we can see looks very similar to your picture.
what are you refering to specifically? ours is the only roof ive seen from the inside like this, so im not sure what to look for.
i would be interested to see more similar shots of other peoples thatched lofts so i can compare ours. im afraid the picture we took is too dark for you to see anything, but thats the view you can see of ours from when you stick your head through the hole in the ceiling.
