The lounge fireplace is spectacular!

We *were* hoping for this Christmas but, alas, we have one more Christmas in our static caravan....this one being our 9th!!! We now hope to move in around April/May of next year

My Rayburn is finally on its plinth, after spending 6 years in the porch under a blanket and surrounded by a 'crate' made from pallets to protect it........the things we do!! :roll:

Things are happening fast now....the stone for the bathroom fireplace is in, at long last, and it looks just as grand as the lounge one even if not quite as big We've connected to the mains water with blue pipe now, so we're on full whack instead of a trickle through the old lead!! Internal walls are being pointed, more electrics are done and the guttering is finished. Very soon, we'll be putting the floor down in the bathroom and en suite, so that the bath and shower trays can go in I *never* thought we'd get this far!!

I've put even more pics up and will be putting more still up over Christmas...so keep popping back for a look

Wow, what a stunning property, and what brave souls you are to cope with 9 Christmas's and all the work in between from your 'temporary' residence. It looks as though it is a very worthwhile project.

Wow! Many years ago Mrs P and I spend 4 years in a static van while we did our first fixer-upper (with 2 kids and 2 dogs), and people said we were stark, staring mad.

So what does that make you? :wink:

Having said that, for the last 9 years we've only paid Band A Council Tax for the van, rather than Band G for the house :wink: So maybe we're not *that* crazy, after all

I trust you have honestly declared any improvements to the caravan - gym, jacuzzi, indoor pool, conservatory, etc.

There have been times, long ago, when we wondered what on earth we were doing...but then I found this forum The help, support and wealth of knowledge has been phenomenal. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that without this forum we wouldn't have got to the stage we're at now because I would have known nothing about buildings breathing, the effects of cement in older properties or where to buy stuff to get things back to how they should be!! Seriously, without this forum we'd have made no end of mistakes because we would have been led by 'modern' builders with their modern building methods. So, I think it's time to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who's helped us in the past...

Now, I just hope that some of this new found knowledge may help someone else new the to game!
