Hi everybody,
I'm writing my dissertation on whether limecrete is a suitable alternative to concrete for historic buildings. As part of it i have to obtain primary research (i.e. questionnaires) so I was wondering if anyone who has used (or even considered) the product could help me out and answer the following questions? I need 10 respondants so all questions answered helps me!!!!
Oh, and if anyone has used the material in the south west and has photographs that i coud use as a case study that would also be helpful!
Obviously feel free to copy and paste it and email it to me at blakeford_house@hotmail.co.uk if you dont want the information public.
Many thanks
Richard
1. What was your main reason for considering the material over, for example, cement?
2. Did you have any problems laying it? – delays/availability etc
3. How much was the cost difference compared to cement?
4. Did you have to make any compromises for it? e.g timings, leave out underfloor heating etc?
5. Did you use it in a structural capacity e.g. under load bearing walls.
6. Do you regret using the material?
7. Was building control supportive of it in your area? (say if its not applicable)
8. Did you need a radon proof membrane?
9. Could you briefly describe the project you used it on and the area of the country you are? (i.e. barn conversion Somerset)
