Limecrete contractors Norfolk/suffolk

Hello,
Does anyone know of a good contractor, experienced in limecrete and breathable insulation (leca,hemp) in the North Suffolk/South Norfolk area?
I was recommended one by a building consultant firm who I had used previously on an unrelated matter but I have not heard from them since they came to do a survey, I can only assume they have not got the knowledge to incorperate the above insulation options as they originally suggested limecrete over celotex!
Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

IJP recently build Adnams' new store using limecrete and hemp. They're a big company based in Oxfordshire, but Ian Pritchett or one of his guys may know of someone more local to yourself

Can you not do it yourself? It's fairly straight forward. If not, as long as YOU understand the process you should be able to convery what needs to be done to a reasonable intelligent builder (note the crucial words there!!). We've just done our whole downstairs in LECA / Limecrete and incorporated UFH too

That's true - I've had a couple of builders who swore they'd never touch lime lay a limecrete floor with no problems. If you want I can send you an idiot's guide. Much of the skill lies in levelling, and anyone who's laid a concrete slab will be fine with that.

Thanks for all the replies, I could hire regular builders and manage it myself, but I am unsure of the recommended thicknesss of each material.One of the floors I have to do has an already well consolidated subfloor that I would be reluctant to excavate, also it is currently at the same level as the (very shallow) foundations so there would be concerns of comprimising the structure of the house.
Gervase, your 'idiot's' guide sounds interesting, if you could send me that, I would be most grateful.

LOL Penners You know I only surface when I have something interesting to say Things are moving rapidly here...got all the Death Watch Beetle work done, got the LECA / Limecrete floor in with UFH, electrics are almost finished, first fix plumbing is done and pressure tested, Lime Putty is going on downstairs (already finished upstairs), guttering is done, stone window sills are almost finished, Rayburn will go in in about 3 weeks!!! Still got the stone to put in in the fireplace in the bathroom but it's carved and ready (will go in next week). I must get some more pictures up soon for you to see but you know what it's like....it's finding the time!!

Well that explains why you've absent for so long. You've actually been doing stuff, while the rest of us just sit on our @rses and chat about it. :wink:
