lime plastering.

ive just quoted myself for the materials for plastering my lean-to.
i turned white.

is there a cheap way to do this? its not that big a job but its going to be hundreds and hundreds of pounds for the materials alone (nhl 3.5 lime and sand), not to mention the tea and hob nobs.

can anyone recommend somewhere around bury st edmunds area to get lime plaster from? my local builders merchants is clarkes but i have been told they dont do lime products.

would be a useful starting point. They are 25.4 miles from Ipswich (according to Google) and they can deliver.

They are agents for St Astier and do a whole range of lime and related products (including laths, pig & goat hair, pigments). They can also make specific non-standard mixes up to order. Ready-mixed mortars come in 15 & 200 litre sizes and have a lead time of a week if haired.

I started to use them as my source of hydraulic lime last summer because they were nearer than Cathedral Works Organisation down in Chichester. Their Website is still "on-hold" but they have been around for several years and also offer courses.

My ready mixed was delivered from Mike Wye, no difference in delivery cost than having it delivered from closer.
