Lime plastering after rewire

We have had our house rewired and need to fill the walls that were chased out for the cables. We intend to use haired lime mortar to repair the walls. We are going to wet the walls down before applying the lime but I am not sure of the best way to do it. Do we:
1) Put lime behind conduit, let it dry for a few days and then put a coat of lime around and over the conduit
2) As above but only leave a day before putting the 2nd coat on
3) Put lime behind, around and on top of the conduit in one go.
4) Don't put lime behind but put it around and ontop of the conduit (less favoured as the conduit is arguably less well held).

I would do this in two stages.
The first would encompass the conduit and outlets etc. in plaster leaving the surface rough but below the level of the proposed finished surface.
I'd make sure the wall and old plaster were well soaked in water beforehand.

At a later stage I'd finish off the surface with lime plaster.
(Any slight indentations left behind can be filled with polyfilla when dry)

Sorry - I should have said that I was intending doing a finishing coat. My questions were regarding the base coat(s).

I trust the conduit is plastic. I wouldn't be too keen on lime applied to metal conduit.

Is the conduit fixed to the walls already (brackets and screws, for example), or pushed into its chasing? I would want to see it reasonably rigidly fixed - with lime-proof screws or whatever.

Lime is no worst than cement or gypsum.

Perhaps it was the copper in the wires that turned the lime green <oops!>. It was certainly an 'orrible mess, and had to be hacked out and re-done. Placcy conduit, on the other hand, has been fine.

I am doing summit similar room by room. Chasing in, sinking the wiring inside plastic conduits

I saved the removed lime, pulverised it and mixed in a handful of pink gypsum (sorry) for the finish.

It seems to have worked for me.
