It seems that a number of Local Authorities are producing good information. While in Stroud recently I came axross some excellent leaflets and I see they are available as pdf downloads from here: Historic Buildings - A Guide to their Repair and Conservation. Well worth a look as they go into some detail, illustrated with photos of local examples.

Found this site today while searching for other info has much useful information on it too.

I have no commercial connection at all - just thought it contained a great deal of useful stuff on cob and lime.

So good also to read about someone who is interested in 'proper' methods of repair.
