To cut a long snowy story short...two 20kg plastic tubs of ready mix 3:1 were left outside in the snow (we had a foot here in kent!). I've had a look inside this morning and there are ice crystals inside.
I've got a couple of tonnes of premixed 3:1 that have endured a couple of winters now, with the lowest temperature so far being -16. It knocks up to a lovely plaster once defrosted.
I have just bought 4 tubs of SWPS 3/1 Unhaired from Mike Wye (which was made up and shipped on the same day last week) and it clearly says on the tubs "Store free from frost".
That's more because the tubs can split if the contents freeze, and the plastic becomes very brittle. The lids snap like dinner plates when it's very cold.
