Lead roof vent

Has anyone used a lead roof vent like one of these for a bathroom extractor?

Does it work effectively? Given that its not sticking up into free air does it clear the steam well? Is there any tendency for the steam to condense when it hits the cold metal and run down the roof?

Aesthetically it would be a big improvement over the grey PVC pipe I currently have but I don't want the slates below it to get stained over time.

I don't have anything like that, but our ground floor shower room vents through the wall a couple of feet from a brick wall that's at a right angle to it. There's a big green patch of algae on that wall so I would think that even without actual drips from the vent (which I'd actually expect) there would probably be a sufficiently elevated moisture level to make the slates below behave differently...

I’ve used a similar one in the past but composite rather than lead and somewhat larger and clay coloured so it could pretend to be a tile. I chose than one as it in theory trapped any condensate and channelled it out onto the tile beneath.

Ours was a clay tile roof and there was some very light staining on the tiles beaneath it after a year or two, but nothing really noticeable over the tiles around it.

but chickened out and vented out the eaves using a more powerful fan rather than risk messing with the old slates - had no problems despite the more complex pipe run

Thanks. I have an UBink UB34 at the back of the house which isn't the most subtle but it sticks up over the ridge line and clears without issue.

The nature-vent looks interesting as its the only one I've seen where the duct connection point is offset upwards from the grille which I think would make it easier to slate around, but my roof isn't battened.

Going down to the eaves isn't possible since the sarking boards just clear the outer edge of the wall head.

I could go to the existing fan at the back of the house, it has a spare terminal, but its a fair distance so won't be as effective and the cost of the ducting will probably end up much the same as getting a second fan at the front.

No clear solution at this point... I may just fit another funnel for simplicity.
