We have solid walls upon which laths have been attached and then plastered. However, we have recently had dry rot problems (see posting about the state of the dry rot potentially due to the advice from the council) and have had to remove some of this. Should this be reinstated or does this system of building cause any dampness to be trapped? I am happy to reinstate the lath & plaster if there is a good reason for it but I was thinking that just plastering the walls directly would allow them to breath more effectively rather than having a cavity by having the lath & plaster system.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
