Took a trip last Tuesday and scaffolding is up and work has begun.

(and the Waterhouse Allonby Reading Rooms is being triumphantly resurrected from near death too, a long standing SAVE case and a major concern of mine. Byron Beck and his wife are doing a wonderful job and I don't think it will be long before the scaffolding is down.)

I do hope that Covehithe Church can survive. Mrs P and I visited it last summer, and it's a fascinating place.

I must say, though, that even the small church built inside the old larger one isn't in very good condition. It looks rather neglected and smelled pretty damp on the (wet) day we were there.

But I don't see how a tiny community like that can possibly afford to maintain the structure properly.
