Kitchen floor tiles stripping

I have started to strip the kitchen floor back and I think that there may be a layer of victorian floor tiles there, similar to the dining/breakfast room. However, they are underneath a layer of porcelain tiles , then a layer of cork tiles, then vinyl tiles and then at the bottom layer concrete or adhesive. if it is concrete - do you think I can remove it? Anybody done similar? If so how? Have attached two pics but nor sure how helpful they are.

All you can really do is try chipping away at it carefully at a low angle with something like a brick bolster Penny.

If you're lucky, the adhesive (which is probably what it is) won't be too strongly bonded to the tiles and will come off clean. If you're even luckier, you won't get halfway across the floor doing this then discover that someone has smashed the tiles to put a pipe in.

If you're unlucky, either you will find this or the adhesive will be so firmly stuck to the tiles that it won't come off without damaging them.

Good luck! I've got a similar problem in our downstairs loo, horrible modern tiles on top of the original floor. I'm convinced there must have been a problem with the original floor though, which was probably quarry tiles, it was the pantry originally and all the utilitarian areas of our house have quarry tiles, even the cellar. Nothing was done to this house unless it was really necessary.

I recommended Strippers of Sudbury to a client of mine that had an awful adhesive on yorkstone slabs. Whatever they recommended seemed to do the trick. Though apparently it stank to high heaven.
