Hello helpful ones
We have got to that point on our project where there is a possibility that we will be getting the kitchen in soon.
The floorboards that are down at the moment have been well fitted onto joists that are in quite good condition ( - for our place that is a shock)on top of bare earth. I want to keep the boards as the floor and bring them back to life by cleaning and treating them with something to nourish the wood as it is quite dry and possibly a bit brittle - whaddaya think would be best for it - Tung oil (if so how many coats will it need to stay nice long term) - or something else ?
We think the boards are pine BTW.
What will give us a good hardwearing finish, be easy to clean and be tough enough (waterproof?) for Kitchen floor and the usual spillages?
Muchos Gracias
Shelli
PS - Big excitement today - we have got some lights working - you can actually switch them on and everything !!!
