King's Cross - a bit of history

Although the redevelopment of the station area will, sadly, see the demolition of listed and conservation area buildings (Culross and Stanley - see past posts) seems I'm not the only one with a fascination for this area:

as I've trundled me wheelie case past it many a time and wished that it could be 'restored to former glory' (groan).

But what about the footbridge (to be demolished) and the clock (to be replaced by a modern digitally thing) .... they are so typically "railway" and are to be replaced by "corporate" bland.
Unless plans have changed since I read about it which is quite likely.
