The upper parts were finished when the scaffold was up. The final coat went on the balcony and pillars today.

Super. I love those ridge-tile balustrades.
And what I really like, the house doesn't look restored, it just looks as if you've wound back time.

What an absolutely fantastic transformation! All that time agonising over finish has paid off. I think the limewash that looks like the natural render colour was the right choice.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement. It couldn't have been done without the inspiration, free consultation and friendship of folks on this board.

The finish looks patchy (which someone on here correctly predicted). Certainly, compared with the flat uniformity of the previous modern paint finish. But, the finish constantly changes with light and moisture, which is lovely.

What can't be seen from the pictures is the massive clean up that needs to be done on the patio, garden, balcony, gutters, roof, drive, brickwork, interior decoration, etc. :roll:

What an intriguingly quirky house!
The front is quite severe until you catch sight of the high pointed roof on the porch and that statement chimney stack with the
adjacent canopied window. Then the garden front relaxes totally into fun with the pillared balcony and the delightful tower room off to its right.

The house really is amazing now, congratulations. It doesn't look like it needs cleaning up, although there do seem to be some pumpkins growing by the front door :wink:
