Am just reading his "Georgian London" - what a great book! I am not sure what is more saddening - his recollection of buildings destroyed in the war or the ones that he saw survive the blitz - but which are no longer there now...

It is a great book - however, what did survive the Blitz isn't all going to survive the plans of certain London authorities to have many historic buildings bulldozed.
