... is the perfect time to be doing major repairs to a bay window. That involves lots of outside work. That also involves taking sashes out, for that "al fresco" living experience.

If I say that over & over again enough do you reckon I'll convince myself eventually???

It was so bl@@dy cold today that some 2-pack epoxy adhesive I was using refused to cure!

If you have time to do a job, you don't have the money, if you have the money you don't have the time, and if you do happen to have both then the chances are it's the middle of winter :roll: :lol:

We also decided to not have a bathroom in winter! Great, as you might argue you don't get so dirty in winter. But we're also suffering with the increased cold as bits of built in pipe work have been ripped out revealing previously concealed howling gales. I've put rags down but that floor is now the biggest drain to the cottage's rather inadequate heating. It's way too cold to strip and wash at the sink ( the shower facility is gone) or to sit in the frozen cast iron bath in the building site bathroom with the tap shower attachment thingy.

It hasn't been that cold in Norfolk so far... But rather than suffer the weather outside, it is good time to do plastering internally. Being cool, the plaster isn't drying out particularly fast which means I get extra time to get the finish I'm after.

Boarding up my bay window in the sleet & hail today. At least I was able to board it up on the outside then remove the sashes from inside, in the warm & dry!

My house now has that nice "semi-derelict" air to it with the most prominent window boarded up with a bit of Sterling board! Only for a few days though.

I don't know what you're all moaning about. It's toasty here in Suffolk (3ft from the woodburner :wink: ).
