Me with brand new chainsaw I used for the first time over the weekend. Had to build the saw horses first though. (It wasn't as dark as the picture makes out.)

Hope he ahs more luck than I did with my chain saw.

Bought a Sthil, as I hoped it would last me a lifetime with care and only cutting logs for the fires.

Hardly used it the first year, used a small amount this winter until a bearing broke, smashing the clutch units and the case, result to swap case is 4/5 hours work plus the cost of case and parts, cheaper to buy a new chainsaw.

I'm currently seeing how good Sthil's customer service is, as the unit carries a 2 year consumer guarantee and the saw is 2y & 4 months old. So far it's not looking good.

So much for buying quality tools.

Like the saw horses - makes things a lot easier. I'm too lazy to make things like that, which means I expend 4 times the effort balancing things I'm cutting on buckets / tool boxes / passers by.

Oy MdB - watch out for the greenhouse with that tree!

Our previous saw worked fine for years (Echo) until it got wet in a flood and seized up.

This one is a big one. Hope it's OK.

I hope it's not too big to manage easily, I thought a big one would be best, but a guy told me small is better, unless you are conversed in handling them because of the weight and balance. As someone else said, get the safety gear, worth it's wait in gold.

Oh he has all that, he's quite used to them.

The other one was a little small for some of what he does, but it will now get taken apart and fixed. Hopefully.
