Anybody trying it right now? It's quite humid, so I'm wondering whether it would be OK, but it might be too warm and crack....

I did some last weekend (little patch jobs) before I saw the forecast. Two survived, one failed.

Yes - I did a whole day yesterday. Just keep wetting it. In North Wales it's about 25 degrees - not sure I'd do it in 32 degrees darnsarf, but that's more because it is uncomfortable to work in an oven.

Saw a chap doing some three-coat plastering on the outside of a timber frame cottage in Frampton a few weeks ago. He was also doing three-coat work inside, all much too flat for my taste, but as regards the handling of lime he clearly knew his stuff.
He had a pump-up garden sprayer, and was misting constantly as he worked. Weather was moderate, temp in the 60s I'd guess and not in direct sun.
So, I think that's the issue, whether you can get the backing to a suitable moisture level before you start, and then keep the plaster damp for a few days while it cures. Outside, you're probably sunk unless you're on a shady north wall, indoors you may have more control.

Our outside rendering is planned to continue next week, having finished the sole plate repairs, and I'm pretty sure they wouldn't risk doing the work if it was likely to fail.
I'm certainly no expert but Ivor's comments make sense to me. Presumably, as long as the required moisture content of the render/plaster is maintained then it should be ok. Indeed, a higher temperature should speed up the carbonation process.
Our works are on an east-facing wall so it gets a lot of morning sun, but it has been covered in hessian to keep it shaded and they said that if it gets really warm then they spray the hessian to keep it damp.
So I think that warm/hot weather is manageable and carbonation will still occur whereas cold/freezing weather is more at risk of failure because carbonation will be slower and there's also the risk of freeze/thaw damage as well.

Thanks all. It's indoor plastering I've got to do, but have now decided not to do it today (got distracted and gone and done something else) because I'm going out tonight and won't be able to look after it....

Today would be ideal, so warm and so very damp here!!!!! Although yesterday was very hot it was also super humid, the washing took forever to dry as it wasn't as sunny as Thursday.

I did some repairs to our chimney a couple months back when it was the best part of 30 degrees. Made my mix slightly wetter than normal, used a big sponge to make sure the stone was suitably wet, then kept re-wetting everything while I worked with a hand held sprayer. Then double wrapped in wet (not just damp) hessian afterwards. Seemed to turn out ok.
