Internal wall insulation - bathroom edition

I’m back to my favourite topic at the moment - how (or even if) to insulate the internal walls of a recently purchased Edwardian red brick. Over this weekend, we stripped the bathroom. The wood panels were on battens with nothing between them and the bare brick wall. What’s the best approach to insulating these walls? Ideally I’d like to put wood panelling back up. Do you treat bathrooms the same as other room when it come IWI? Thanks in advance for any tips.

If you are contemplating tiles and/or waterproof shower panels, breathability is out of the window. In which case you might as well use Celotex type insulation boards (3" will be plenty to hit current Building Regs target).
Retaining the wood panelling, I'd go for wood fibre insulation boards topped off with a polished lime finish. Either Tadelakt or Venetian - When I get round to doing my bathroom, I'll be using Venetian plaster with a beeswax/carnauba wax polish around the bath/shower area.

Thanks Paul. I was thinking of tiling only around the shower (which will be over the bath and will be used infrequently) which are internal walls. Then I was thinking of panelling the other two walls which are external.
