Internal stone wall

Were currently undergoing room by room upgrades at our 1836 house. I've recently knocked some plaster off a wall which had cracked, it was also really soft behind the chipboard wallpaper and under no doubt the plaster needed to come off.... I love what i revealed!

The wall is stone, and until there was an extension built in 1931, it would have been an external wall. It's what would have been the rear exit, so I've also exposed the original brick arch ove the old doorway.

I'd really like to keep this exposed and make it a sort of feature, I'm in two minds and I'm not totally ruling out repointing and plastering over.

I'd really appreciate any thoughts and advice - ill attempt to upload some photographs

I'll wait for the photos before commenting. The decisions will be aesthetic rather than structural or historical, I reckon.

I think isolated "features" in a room that is otherwise plain tend to look rather contrived.

If the uncovered stone or brickwork had some really fantastic feature, like old brick mouldings, an original carved name/builder plaque, etc, then that would be worth displaying. But just a bit of plain stone wall with the plaster missing? I'm not so sure.

Been looking at these pics for a few minutes and puzzling over what the previous owner and builders had done before realising I needed to rotate them 90 degrees right. Makes much more sense now.

If you like them then make them a feature; personally I quite like the juxtaposition of old and new, but then I have to, the First Lady is is twenty years younger.

Right or wrong? I'm not sure, but the joiner I use suggests I visquine, then 2 x 2 and plasterboard.
This is the original wall, I guess it's built on soil.
It'll either be lime washed paint or lime plastered as my chosen method. I've seen images on here of lovely examples of both finish. At the moment it's just loose flying dust everywhere and with 2 little kids about I want to get this job boxed off now!
The wall continues through a door into the lounge and there is a condensation/damp patch low down, so I really want to use the correct methods and fix the problem whilst having a nice finish
In my mind it's aesthetic and structural preservation (in no particular order)
