OK - its getting cold, and this year I want to do something about about it.
We have some walls of stone, some of solid brick. Some with Lime plaster some with the previous owners concrete on them.
What is thought the best way to insulate the walls internally?
I've read loads but find a lot of info confusing and not especially relable looking (seems common to give a figure for conductivity and call it resistance for example).
Im thinking insulation material against the wall, studwork and then either laths or clayboard or similar. What has worked for people without loosing too much space?
I read that current thinking is not to worry about insulation getting damp as long as it doesnt rot so not to worry about air gaps - but that seems strange as well?
Suggestions / thoughts welcome. Even daft comments.
