So, started hacking off some of the plaster so we can dry the walls out a bit more.
Made a start in one of the back bedrooms - turns out that beneath the plaster is a good centimetre of cement - an internal render if you will - so as always a relatively quick job - isn't...
Apparently the previous owner thought that was a better idea than re-pointing the outside... On the plus side, two weeks until stone masons arrive to rebuild the gable wall and chimney, so in theory by mid September we will have a water tight house!
Then it's just the conservatory to repair, all the internal plaster to hack off, more floorboards down, plumbing to rectify, stripping off the masonry paint of the ashlar, repointing the ashlar, re-sealing the bodged in PVC windows to make them weathertight until we can afford to replace them, etc etc etc etc etc... :shock:
