We've recently moved into a 1830s house and would like to replace all the internal doors as they are currently frosted-glass panelled. I've got a carpenter quoting to make them up from blanks into 4-panelled doors as they're all different sizes and large (one being 6' 11") and we will be painting them. He's going to buy 'fire door thickness' blanks (1 3/4") from a Howdens joinery. I'm now worrying that they'll be flimsier than they should be and that I should try to source reclaimed doors instead. Should I wait and do them door by door as we find them or will they look ok? The whole house is a 1970s fantasy so we're really starting from scratch!
