Hi all,
Thought you might be interested in this property that has just come onto the market near us......
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-41814969.html
Reputedly built as a hunting lodge in the 16th or early 17th century, when the three Royal forests of Kinver, Cannock and Brewood met at Tettenhall. It was owned in the mid 1800s by Colonel Thimas Thorneycroft, a wealthy local eccentric who also owned the nearby rambling Tettenhall Towers, now an independent school. Apparently Col. Thorneycroft altered More House (previously Gorsty Hayes Cottage) and added some of the detail you see today. Nonetheless it is an interesting property and soooooo cheap! The surrounding houses are less than ideal and next door is the rather brutalist in design, 1965 RC church of St. Thomas of Canterbury - a locally listed building and not to my personal taste
Hope someone sympathetic buys it, although I'm doubtful as it appears to have been for sale previously (2014) albeit at a higher price with no takers
Mims x
