I have recently moved into a 3 storey late victorian farmhouse and am wondering what insulation materials to use in:
. a loft space above a bedroom and study - weather to 3 sides of room - I was thinking of the normal fibreglass rolls you get from B & Q etc but have been searching back in the archives and have read postings about thermo fleece etc.
. cellar ceiling (wooden) to make living room above warmer - when wind blows carpet rises quite spectacularly - thinking of sanding and exposing floorboards here and having a carpet square on floor. Builder suggested rockwall.
. also possibly between joists in third floor area - ceiling of which just goes up the the slates above - some covered in old plaster - currently joists painted white.
. As plumbers and electricians are working on house, is it worth putting some kind of insulation under the floor boards which are being lifted (avoiding electrical wires) I had heard of something which sounded like polystyrene balls which could be poured in.
Any advice welcomed
