Hi,
Instead of asking a question, I thought I'd post something I've come across today. It's by English Heritage, and it refers to the insulation of solid walls. It's an interesting read, and gives suggestions on various types of approaches. The item that didn't make too much sense to me was the reference to foil or a vapour barrier, as I understand that a vapour barrier is very difficult to create (as in, to ensure it's actually completely sealed (ie. where it meets the floor joists).
Also, interesting that the insulation is pressed up against the solid brick. The diagram shows a layer of lime plaster, but I think it's only reference as a left over layer, but not even needed.
Anyway, perhaps of interest to others.
