insulation for tin roof

our extention has a tin roof. is it possible to insulate for heat retention without also insulating the lovely sound it makes in the rain?
Ive no idea whats up there at the moment, but the ceiling of the room is v-shaped with boards on it.

If you have the money and inclination, I would look at "Trisomet" by Corus steel. Its a metal skin with foam insulation then metal skin, screws straight onto your purlins. You can hear the pitta-patta of rain on it and you are not deafened by the roar of the escaping heat.

looks a bit industrial. perhaps they do it in a more traditional style?
is there anything we can do without replacing the roof though? the existing tin is in good repair (well, not b*ggered)
