Hi,
Looking for advice on insulating a small bathroom in a stone cottage(not listed). Bathroom has 2 external walls(2' stone) and one internal(2' stone). I want to save as much space as possible but don't want it feeling like an ice box.
The floor is concrete(2 levels approx 30mm difference). My questions are as follows;
1. Insulating the concrete floor? what is the best method? Do I require to place a DPM on top of the concrete before insulating boards?Kingspan/ celotex or similar.
2. The internal wall is a nice stone and would make a good feature. Would I be able to leave this as is?(can I treat this to allow for the moisture/condensation(would this effect the wall on the other side that will be insulated(Celotex/Plasterboard). This will be on a wall that will have shower spray.
3. how best to insulate the 2 other walls without losing much space(room is approx 1500x 2500). Wood stud/metal stud? Dot and Dab?
4. What heating would you recommend for this space(only option is electricity)
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Phil
