Insulating Lime Plaster

Hi, has anyone applied insulating lime plaster to a internal wall to help insulate the room?
Our situation. Existing lime plaster (very poor). Will be be damanged when window replaced so we are going to strip it off back to the brick and get a insulating lime plaster applied internally. We cannot apply externally. Also wall is solid brick no cavity.

Hi thanks, Greenlime produce it and so do Anglia Lime. It contains glass beeds to raise the U value of the wall while maintaining breathability.

We've used this:

Gives a textured finish which looks great - done the whole bathroom as it was stripped back to brick and lathe. Now using on the bedroom as the base coat and will finish with smooth as the rest of the room is smooth. It provides some additional insulation but not sure how much. We found it to be much better than before but also added 50mm of sheeps wool insulation behind wool boards to the 2 external walls so was bound to be an improvement.
It is fairly easy to apply (This was the first bit of plastering I've ever done) but make sure you wet the wall very well first and push the fist coat hard onto the brick.

Not cheap but good stuff. Current bags are 3 years old and still compliant and mix up well.

I have a bag of this in the shed which was offered free from Anglia Lime. I plan to use it on a small cold and damp section of wall currently covered in limelite and gypsum. I know I won't feel any difference in the room because the area being fixed is only 1m x 2m but I'm hoping I will have a drier and warmer wall.

Even the very best insulation (in terms of resistance to the movement of warmth) is pretty unimpressive in the sort of thicknesses we're talking about in the thickness of plaster. Adding an insulant of some description to plaster produces something which is a very long way from the performance of the best insulants. Therefore, you're into the territory of "something is better than nothing......but only marginally".

Wasn't available when our wall was done, we used lime + hemp for the first coat and lime alone for the second. Weren't living here at the time so can't say what improvement it gave.
Tapestries and other wall hangings are a good way of introducing a warm feel to a room, as well as appropriate low levels of lighting, and antique light fittings, even if the room isn't actually warmer.
